A worker is in critical condition after a construction accident in which he fell 20 feet at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium construction site. The employee sustained several injuries when he fell from scaffolding landing on the playing field.

He was taken by helicopter to Methodist Dallas Medical Center at 2:30pm, said Arlington Fire Department battalion chief.

The worker was moving his arms and legs after the fall, however, the extent of his injuries is unknown, said Manhattan Construction.

An Occupational Health and Safety Administration investigator was sent to the site Tuesday afternoon, Labor Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Todd said. She said it is too early to determine if OSHA will investigate or rule the fall an accident.

Expected to be open for the 2009 season, the Cowboys started construction on the $1 billion stadium in April.
